What is the DSA?
The disabled students’ allowance (DSA) is a financial resource available for students in higher education with disabilities or other approved conditions.
The allowance can be used to cover any additional costs that a student may incur due to their condition, including;
- One to one support
- Specialist software
- Specialist equipment
- Printing costs
- Travel
- Accommodation
The DSA is a grant and does not need to be paid back. It can make a real difference in enabling disabled students to access higher education and achieve their full potential.
For many students with disabilities, the DSA is an essential piece of the puzzle that allows them to thrive at university.
